2019 Driven x Design Hospitality - Gold
The new lobby and Pool bar design by Stack for Vibe Hotel Gold Coast draws on the youth culture of Surfer’s Paradise. The space is designed to be fun, youthful, unpretentious and laid back with a special focus on local craftsmanship and surfing.
The brief for Vibe Hotel gave Stack an exciting opportunity to participate in rejuvenating a hotel in the midst redifining its new identity. A strong focus on the local lifestyle and needs were required along with the need to appeal to the operator’s existing and future clientele.
Stack Studio chose to focus on the vibrant and energetic surf culture.
The proximity of the hotel to the beach secures a steady flow beach-goers - hence the decision to create a characterful lobby designed to enhance the beaching experience means that the hotel itself is a part of the cultural matrix.
Sustainability was a very big part of the project, with extensive use of recycled and natural materials. The creative application of these materials contribute to the edgy, rustic atmosphere and aids in delivering a space that is unforgettable.
